This machine is a three-roll symmetrical plate rolling mill, designed for cold-rolling low-carbon steel and low-alloy steel into cylindrical shapes. The upper roll is capable of vertical lifting and lowering. During the rolling process, the two lower rolls are driven by an electric motor and a reducer. Since the elevation of the lower rolls remains constant, material feeding and operation are facilitated.
This machine is an essential piece of equipment for industries such as boiler manufacturing, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, cement, electric motors, and other manufacturing sectors. With its compact design and user-friendly operation, it is currently a widely used medium- and small-scale plate rolling machine in China.Operating Principle and Features of the Equipment
The mechanism adopts a three-roller symmetrical configuration, in which the upper roller performs vertical reciprocating motion at a position symmetrically aligned with the centers of the two lower rollers, driven by a lead-screw–nut–worm-gear transmission. The two lower rollers rotate, with their rotation driven by the output gear of a reducer that meshes with the lower-roll gears, thereby providing the torque required for rolling sheet material.
Figure 1.1 Schematic Diagram of the Operating Principle of a Three-Roller Plate Bending Machine
As shown in Figure 1.1, the primary motion refers to the clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the upper roll about O1 and the lower rolls about O2 and O3, respectively. The secondary motion refers to the vertical movement—either upward or downward—of the upper roll.
It employs two lower rolls as the driving rollers, which are powered by a prime mover, coupling, reducer, and open gear set. During operation of the upper roll, it is driven by the friction between the steel plates; at the same time, as a driven shaft, it serves to adjust the pressing force. The upper roll’s vertical movement is controlled by a separate drive system consisting of an upper-roll lifting motor, a reducer, a worm-gear pair, and a nut. When in operation, the worm-gear pair rotates the internal nut of the worm gear, causing the screw and the upper-roll bearing housing to move vertically. The two lower rolls can rotate in both forward and reverse directions; under the pressure of the upper roll, they repeatedly roll the sheet material, thereby achieving the desired curvature and forming the intended shape.
Structural Features of the Equipment
1. Upper and lower rolls: These are the main components of the plate rolling machine and are made of forged high-quality carbon steel.
2. Frame: There are two frames, one on the left and one on the right. The lower portions of the frames are secured to the base with screws, and a connecting shaft links the two frames in the middle to maintain their correct alignment.
3. Gearbox: A standard JZQ/BW/WDH-type reducer is used and mounted on the same base as the elevation frame.
4. Balancing Device: Mounted on the side of the main reducer, it maintains the balance of the upper roll during unloading by means of the interaction between the tail shaft and the pressure plate.
5. Chassis: fabricated by welding channel steel and steel plates, integrating the frame, gearbox, motor, and other components.
It is mounted on the chassis, thereby forming a unified whole.
6. Electrical Section: Comprises an electrical control box and a motor.
